Rosa Bracteata

Also known as the Hybrid Tea Rose.

Clicky, Chippy and my dad came up to Edinburgh today. Wasn't that nice of them to want to visit me and coming all this way up just to do that? Nope, they hadn't come up for a nice visit with me, I was just the convenient accomodation in Edinburgh, far cheaper than a hotel too (though I don't believe hotels take bottles of wine as payment).

They arrived around lunch time and after showing them the vast difference in colouring now Milo has shed we headed off to the canal. My mum has taken various strolls along the canal on a Sunday morning when she's visited but hadn't got very far along. Today we got all the way to the Water of Leith and a little way along that too. Needless to say cameras were out and many photos taken. We saw a Mallard diving for food (yes, we thought they were dabbling ducks too!) and a baby chick launching itself up out of the water to catch midges. I also took a number of flower shots to continue my plant theme.

After dinner we headed out to Spoon for the Blip meet. It was lovely to see a couple of faces I recognised and to meet lots more. It was also nice to be able to chat to people, I'd felt a bit intimidated at the Blip Together meet and so hadn't done much socialising. Now, I could have blipped the lovely blippers but I'm still a bit edgy about taking photos of people due to my attitude to photos of myself. Instead I noticed some roses near a white wall so went and took photos of them to continue the little plant theme I'm doing. I think it's helping me focus to blip having a theme for myself.

When we got back in it was time to feed Milo. He didn't show me up my not eating which I was slightly worried about. Instead he decided to eat it backwards, not a problem usually. Tonight though the mouse had popped open and lets just say, he got a bit messy as he hauled it around trying to make it go down the wrong way. I guess he had to do it eventually.
