Eustoma Grandiflorum

Otherwise known as Lisianthus, one of my favourite flowers.

Arms laden with shopping bags I passed the florist on the way home from shopping yesterday. What should I see on the windowsill but lisianthus, in a pot, as a growing plant! Well I just had to nip in and buy one (even though I had no hands left to carry it). Today I questioned my sanity. I'm enjoying my plant blips but I've chosen to do them in summer. Summer, that time when it doesn't get dark until well after 10pm. I could have nicely done this series late afternoon in winter!

It seems like days ago that Clicky, Chippy and my dad left and yet it was only this morning. Knowing they were entering show season I thought I better offer mum her spotlamp back that she'd kindly lent me when we moved. Thankfully she said she wasn't going to take it back until I'd learnt to use it properly (Personally I felt plugging it in and switching it on at night was proper use). Now that to me is just incentive for me not to learn, after all, if I learn I'll have to get a new bedside lamp and find a new way to heat Milo's dinner. Well I found that it greated a slight pink glow to this shot and also cast strange little patterns in shadows.

I love getting post and today I recieved a huge parcel, waist high and a couple of foot wide! Even better, it was half full of bubble wrap! Once I'd got past the excitement of so much bubble wrap I set about unpacking Milo's new home and assorted paraphernalia. Thankfully I've had lots of practice at flatpack building and I had it set up in no time. I've popped in his hides, some fake plants (maybe I'll blip them too) and his water bowl. I can't fully set it up yet as I'm still waiting for the silicon sealer and parts of the heating set up but hopefully by next week he'll be settling in to a lovely new home.
