Car Karaoke
Took MeeMaw on her errands this morning and all 3 kiddos now that they're out of school. I also put the boys to work so that we could have fun in the afternoon. I had alot of stuff to get done in the morning, so I divided up the chores and put them to work. Believe it or not, I actually had tears of joy when they pitched in and worked together. Liam actually OFFERED to help Loren with a couple things. I checked his eyes to see if they looked normal and to make sure he hadn't been abducted by aliens and implanted with some sort of device. He looked normal, so it must have been my prayers. A good friend once told me, don't pray for patience because the only way you know if you have the patience is to have it tested. Since then I've been more specific in prayer. I realize today that I really am not high maintenance when I can cry over just my kids getting along. Lack of conflict truly makes me complete and happy!
This blip photo of today was from a Wendy's kids meal. Last night I treated them to Wendy's and in the kids meal came a Kids Car Karaoke CD. It came with these tear-off 'rating sheets' for the person singing the karaoke. The songs were songs they had never heard of including 'ABC' by the Jackson 5, 'Achy Breaky Heart' by Billy Ray Cyrus, 'Reunited' by Peaches & Herb and 'New Attitude' by Patti LaBelle. Loren gave me this rating 'Please Stop' in the pic you see after my rendition of Reunited. I don't blame him...when God handed out Spiritual Gifts...singing WASN'T mine! I've got to say, I can handle putting up with a CD that has a Billy Ray Cyrus song on it in a Happy Meal much better than getting a Happy Meal with another junky toy we don't need.
After the necessities were done, we went to a friend's (Linda) house for lunch and a swim playdate. They had such a great time blasting each other with water guns and playing Marco Polo! But all good things must come to an end, so Linda went off to tennis lessons with her son and I went off to more Tournament of Champions practice with my boys. While at practice, Loren's only pair of glasses got demolished by a boy's cleats. I am concerned that I have less than 2 days to get a new pair in before the tournament. Even if I order tomorrow I'd have to have them shipped Overnite. Plus, I don't have coverage for a new pair this year---so it will cost quite a bit. He felt really bad about setting them down to play the catcher position, so I tried to make him feel better. During all this, I get a call from his doctor saying that the blood test results said he has a bacterial infection called Mycoplasma Pneumoniae. This explains the lump on the neck that I've lost sleep over. He is starting on a strong antibiotic. If it grows larger, the lump will have to be drained :( Let's hope that isn't the case. All in all, I am really glad the doctor listened to my concerns and ordered bloodwork!

Favorite Kid Quote of the Day came from Liam:
Loren and Liam were talking about who was going to hop in the shower first and Loren told Liam he takes showers entirely too fast and that he couldn't possibly get clean in that short amount of time. Liam said "That's not true, I wash with a Loompa every day!" ------------- Liam has a habit of accidentally calling loofahs that you wash with a Loompa. Then I asked him "Do you really have a knee-high little men from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory wash your back each night?" He thought that was really funny, but I think he'll turn around tomorrow and still call it a loompa.
