All seven one week on
As the hoglets get older this type of picture will become rarer. They are starting to get their facial featuree. The nose ridge is appearing and my partner Gill, is convinced she saw an eye twitch on one of the babies tonight.
While working with hedgehogs you get used to being excited over what seem to be the strangest of things.
If a sick hog comes in we monitor its poo. We check the colour and consistency. Runny green - bad, solid brown with an earthy smell, good.
Aggressive is good, we look for signs they will cope once released. No matter how long they are with us, leave them alone for a couple of weeks and they revert to the wild.
