Lutyens Catalogue
It is not strictly a Lutyens catalogue. It is the offices for the old Daneshill brick works in Basingstoke. But the brick works made bricks for the 19th century architect to his own specification (he liked them dark red, long and thin as the Tudors did). Then he designed the company offices to show off all the different bricks it could make.
It may seem an odd choice for a 100th blip. But my blips are more about my life than any photographic skills I might possess, all the nice bits and some not so nice. Our house was built by a local man, strongly influenced by Lutyens who built in a sort of "Luteyns Lite" style. We are extending it and trying to be true to the original design intentions without going too far and creating a nasty pastiche. So recently we have been looking a lot at this and the house nearby that Lutyens designed for the owner of the brickworks. Today we chose fittings for the new part of the house and I did think of blipping a tile shop or Bathstore.com. But it is my hundredth so I thought I would blip the inspiration instead
Had its street number been 100 that would have been perfect!
