Desiree & Tristan
Anyone who has grandkids and has not seen them in a year knows what this moment feels like . . . I thought my heart was going to burst.
We waited and waited and every passenger from every plane seemed to come down that escalator, and then there they were -- the magical moment that our granddaughter Desiree and our great-grandson Tristan stepped onto the moving stairs.
He was looking for us, and when that smile covered his face as he saw us, we just melted.
This has been an afternoon and evening of fun reunion. We think Tristan has changed very little physically, but his vocabulary seems to have tripled. A year ago when they left California, Tristan would mimic our words, but now he speaks in whole sentences.
This has been a truly wonderful day and we're just thrilled to have both of them with us for these next 12 days.
It's late. Good night from Southern California.
