Thistle Down

By Ethel

To My Dear Daughter

In years to come and I'm not here,
You'll see this little vase.
An image from inside will come,
Perhaps you'll see my face.

Within this blessed moment,
I'll come and strengthen you.
And because there is an inward trust,
You'll do what you must do.

The radiance of a distant gleam,
Where holy realms take flight.
And angels settle at God's throne,
In a sudden shift of light.

And if you press the silence,
Not a gesture will you miss.
You'll know the touch upon your cheek,
Was just my loving kiss.

Family; This was a letter that LaRae sent out as a Christmas greeting Dec., 1995. To quote the opening paragraph;

"Last week, I was at my sister Beth's house and we were visiting and discovered that in the last week, we had found a little white vase with a full-blown sculpted rose and tiny rosebuds, in pink, that our mother had given to us fifteen years ago. Inside was a scroll with a poem on it that our mother had written."
