Eye of the beholder
Seeing the horses grazing by the fence line I stopped to say hello.
With the first fistful of grass I pulled up for the first the rest soon sauntered over not wanting to miss a free lunch and rub on the back. I can feel their greasy horse sweat as I run my hand down the sides of their neck. Of course it is another 100+ day and we are both sweating with the least efforts.
Trying to get a horse-eys's view of the world, squating and laying down on the grass at hose level with their chomping mouths and muddied hooves I realized I had caught something deeper than just a perspective, but a reflection. Truly a horse view of the world. In the eye of the beholder.
