This glacier sits beside the road from Lhasa to Shigatse, the 'Friendship Highway' that passes over the Himalayas and into Nepal. The pass is at something like 5000 metres above sea-level; thankfully 3 days in Lhasa (at 3600m) eventually cured us of altitude sickness before we got here!
