Our first real view of the Himalayan mountains! Sadly we did not see Everest- the downside of visiting at this time of year is that it's monsoon season, so the mountains are frequently in cloud- but we did get this rather splendid view on the road between Shigatse and Old Tingri. It may or may not be called the Gatso La (pass); it sits at the entrance to Qomolangma (Everest in Tibetan) National Park.
