..looks like the views of the Perseid meteors will be less than spectacular tonight, then :(

The rain lashed down upon the site this afternoon, ruining my beautifully cleaned graveyard...

then, walking home, in addition to the usual festival-going crowds taking up the whole pavement, now they carry umbrellas with no regard for the safety of the eyes of other passers-by.

Still, one thing that cleaves a path through the crowds very satisfactorily is an archaeologist in a Very Muddy Hi-viz Jacket.
