Canterbury
It was hard to take a bad photo in a place like this, but I felt this was one of the best, and it has some sunshine in it (unfortunately it got very cloudy and wet after this!).
So yes, we went to Canterbury today, and stopped by St. Augustine's Abbey (which was pretty interesting, summary: St. Augustine was a hero, buried there, lots of ruins and buckets of archaeology) before heading straight to the obligatory visit for any Kent holiday: Canterbury Cathedral.
The scale of the place really defies belief, not just the cathedral itself but the size of the grounds as well. There were so many corridors into side areas and ruined bits here I'm not entirely sure we saw it all! The bells went off while we were there - that was impressive. If you stood in the right place you could feel the sound vibrating through you.
