CROWES BUFFER STOP

The "Crowes" Buffer Stop, has been restored recently to commemorate this pioneering narrow gauge rail line.
The line ran from Colac to Beech Forest, and in 1911 the Crowes extention was opened. Carrying upto 29,000 pasengers and 37,000 tons of timber and potatoes a year.
This rail, stopped cargo in the 1950's and recieved it's last train in 1962.
The Colac to Beech Forest line now boast's 45klms of rail trail, for mountain bikes and walkers.
