Birthday Girl

3 TODAY - HAPPY BIRTHDAY GRACIE PIE!!! You've certainly changed quite a bit! Thank you to the birthday wishes to Grace yesterday.

Having celebrated with a party for family and friends yesterday, today was free to do with as we pleased. This morning, Grace opened up all of her presents, including those from yesterday's party guests. WOW, we were overwhelmed by people's kind gifts. Grace was so excited and loved every single thing. She couldn't wait to get stuck into the craft sets, books, puzzles and toys, nor to try on the clothes and accessories she received, so it took quite a while to open up everything!

It looked s though we'd not be going anywhere today, as Ophelia was very poorly last night. Usually a little feed or some medicine calms her within a few minutes on the occasions she wakes up overnight with teething etc, but this was different: She was crying and inconsolable for a couple of hours, which is not like her at all. We ended up calling NHS Direct/out-of-hours, but luckily she then calmed enough to feed and then got back to sleep, though it was in our bed. She was fine by this morning and had perked up by lunchtime so was ok to go out. She seemed to enjoy herself!

We gave Grace free choice over where to go today for lunch and a few hours out the house, and so she chose...IKEA. Hmmm. When we got closer, she realised we were actually next to the Metro Centre, so we ended up there instead and she wanted chips for lunch, so we headed to Burger King. We also bought Grace this balloon and she had it tied to her Backpack (a birthday present from us). It made it easier to spot her when she went darting off in the toy shops. Might be a good idea to do the balloon-tied-to-the-rucksack thing more often! She was treated royally in the Disney Store, with a handwritten card, some stickers and a picture of Tinkerbell to colour in. Very sweet!

Now she's upstairs asleep once again, after an evening playing with toys and watching playhouse disney and peppa pig. Night night pie xx
