Downstairs there's a blackboard............

Really it's at the bottom of the stairs leading into the Rose and Crown.

Today's been hectic, rushing round, laying paving slabs, into work to check exam results, shopping (man shopping, in , get, pay, out), lunch, phone calls,working on my teaching group's exam results, keeping dad supplied with tea etc and eventually off for the pub quiz.

Sat at table 13, just taken the first swallow of beer when realised I hadn't blipped.

Scratched my head, careful not to get splinters in my fingers, frowned, fretted, fidgeted, still bereft of ideas.

Went out for a nicotine blast and there it was, the ubiquitous pub blackboard.
The line up's not bad for a small pub, a band and 4 Premiership football teams playing in the beer garden presumably, but if the band starts at 10p.m. and the last match kicks off at 5.30 it's going to be a long night!

I know it's not one of my best but it's the best I could do today. As Scarlett O'Hara said, "Tomorrow is another day."
