Train

Kerr went on his first ever train journey today. It's fair to say that kerrsdaddy and i were probably more excited about this than Kerr was. However, once he was on the platform and watching trains go by he did get quite excited, and this escalated when we were actually on the train.

We went into Glasgow and had long overdue eye tests. Both our prescriptions had changed (typical!) so it ended up being quite an expensive trip. I got new lenses in my current frames which I wear only very occasionally. Kerrsdaddy got 2 new pairs of specs, which no doubt will feature in a future blip! The staff at the opticians loved Kerr, and were entertaining him constantly, although it might have just been a ploy to get us to spend more money...

We then went to Jamie Oliver's restaurant hoping to have lunch there. Hmm, it was far too busy. We were told it would be an hour long queue once we actually got in the building, and outside there were already several groups of people in front of us. We decided against waiting, and went to Pizza Express instead, which was lovely and probably more child friendly anyway.

Next stop was Hamley's for a look at the toys, then back on the train home. I'm glad we don't go into Glasgow city centre too often - it is so busy and noisy and we were pleased to get back home again. Kerr didn't nap all day, so he went to bed early at 6pm - let's hope this doesn't mean he will be up at 6am, fingers crossed!
