Migrant Hawker

This is a female Migrant Hawker (I think). Pre-blip I knew nothing about dragonflies and I still need to refer to the books and internet to attempt an identification, after all I couldn't just say this is a dragonfly we found at Tyttenhanger Gravel Pits, that just wouldn't do for a compulsive labeller.

Interestingly I asked Mrs L which crop to blip, I'd done one that concentrated on the head and wings, which meant that the end of the wings and most of the body were cut off. She really didn't like it - you've got to show the complete dragonfly, that crop's really annoying she reckoned - seems compulsiveness runs in the family. For those wanting more detail, view in LARGE.
