Last of the summer BBQs

Yes this could be the last for this year. Our son returns to Germany tomorrow for a couple of weeks before taking up his new Corporal's post near Cambridge, so with the promise of fine weather we decided to go for it.

The weather didn't match the expectations of yesterday but we sat out and listened to the distant sounds of music from 'Party in the park'* taking place in the town about 1 1/2 miles away and the occasional cheer from the cricket field just round the corner. So it still felt very summery.

* This used to be a great free event with old groups like 'Shawaddywaddy' performing and then fireworks, but sadly it has now been extended to three days/nights with more up to date names and of course a fee to get in!
