A shelter at lunchtime

On the beach at Le Grau d'Agde there was a huge jellyfish, about 30 to 40 cm across, washed up on the sand. It put me off a bit, in case there were more in the water, but we still swam and the sea was warmer than it was in August. The air was clear and we could see the outline of Mont Canigou in the distance across the water and the clouds along the line of the eastern Pyrenees stretching far inland.

Instead of our usual snack seaside lunch, we treated ourselves to the menu du jour at one of our favourite restaurants, at a table next to the beach, with the shades down against a slight breeze off the sea: prawns in batter with a chilli dip, lamb in a slightly spicy tomato sauce, and the wonderful café gourmand - an espresso coffee with several small servings of dessert including the best crème caramel I've had for a long time.

Edit: I've just noticed my blip a year ago was from the same place, but an image of olives in the market.
