Thurnham Castle
I had to go overt to Sittingbourne and on the way back decided to call at the White Horse country park because in all the years I've lived in Kent I've never been. Unfortunately what should have been wonderful views were unavailable due to low cloud and general murkiness but I found the tree stump and also some lovely wild clematis. I liked the tree stump because there seems to be so much happening.
Thurnham castle is also in the park. It was built of flint in the 12th century and the main mounds remain and also a section of wall. I have put together a panorama showing the remaining wall.
