Watching the Walking

A lot of this day was spent just doing "catch-up" work. At one moment during the late afternoon I was sitting in our home office paying bills, one of my least favorite things to do. For a diversion I checked my email.

Earlier in the day I had sent an email to the art professor at the campus because she had commented on a photo I had placed on FaceBook the other day. So I wanted to explain it to her and then I found myself sending her the link to life.turns. Later after watching it she replied that she thought it was truly fun.

As I read that email, my cell phone was on the desk; I had been using the calculator on it and I wondered if I could possibly play/watch life.turns on my phone. Well, most of you know the answer to that.

As it started, I realized that it would play on my phone (duh!). So the day was getting short and my camera was still empty and the voice in my mind was starting to knock on my door to deliver the daily question, "What are you going to blip to represent this day?"

"Well, I'm sure not going to take a photo of these statements and invoices and checks I've been writing," was the thought I whispered.

Then I took my "point and hope" from my pants pocket to just play around and mostly, I figured "waste time" by testing the possibility of catching a few frames of life.turns and quickly I was having fun watching the camera capture one frame after another.

My favorite part of the movie is the opening statement and the grand finale--the girl with the hat just Wows me! My photo is not in any special order; it just is.

I had to laugh when my camera captured quite well one of the life.turns frames that I submitted (I did not include in the line-up here). I really love the music that moves the film along. The whole thing is a winner as far as I am concerned and I am thrilled that it is possibility coming to NPR.
