Ullapool

Got into Ullapool by 11. Wandered about. Bigger than I thought with quite a few bars and hotels, hotels mostly filled with olds on their weekend bustrip from Wakefield ect. Had dinner in the Ceilidh Place, interesting food! venison poisoned with juniper berries, courgette soup and berry crumble. Guess the cheif just wandered out to the hillside and spent all day picking berries then proceeded to put them into every dish!
The ceilidh was good and nice to catch up with fellow islanders. My hotel room in the Royal was vast but had Arctic conditions. I even had a room within a room with bunk beds. A fellow chappy at the meeting had his wife and two kids and were stuffed in the Argyll hotel in a double room so I offered to swap. Very gracious of me (I had figured that the temp in the smaller hotel may have been somewhat higher) I was right and not only that but with internet access!
