Digging 36: We have a plan!

This is a quick, computer generated site plan....compare to the real thing!

It is amazing what a difference there is in creating plans of archaeological sites, these days, compared to my first dig back in 1978.
The data for this plan was gathered by a laser EDM, that inputs coordinates and heights. Everyone in my young day did it all by tape measure and Dumpey level.

We only borrowed the EDM, so most of the planning has been done by old-fashioned methods, which is really difficult for the younger diggers (everyone compared to me!)
