The calm before the storm
Firstly, the blob on the horizon is not the sun. I've no idea what it is!
Thought I'd go for a walk before going out tonight. Ipod on, camera in one hand, water in another. I was dodging the rockets and firecrackers for most of the way! People were bagging their spot along the front for another night of fireworks and celebrations with children no more than six years old lighting rockets that were stood in bottles on the pavement. More horizontal catherine wheels and firework debris strewn along the way, evidence of the Hindu New Year. Quite an experience. It's great.
Hit Bandra tonight with a couple of guys from another department in work. Managed to bag a table at a local veg restaurant first though, where we sampled the best Gujerati Thali I've ever had. Just come back in a taxi - with a budding Mclarren driver I reckon. It was great to see the streets and areas lit up with their Diwali lanterns and fairy lights. Just like Christmas lights in the UK. No pictures of that, we were going too fast.
I was torn between a rocket in a bottle, a girl selling roses and these two dudes, soaking up the atmostphere.
Off to bed now... Night!
