My day
Big. Put this wonderfully descriptive word in front of each of the statements below. It sums up my day.
Pain in my neck - literally not metaphorically.
Traffic jam this morning.
Headache all day.
List of things to do.
Waste of my time arguing with teenage boys over THEIR issues not mine.
Empty stomach.
Pain under my eyes.
Society, not Government.
Bang when my neck was released at the osteopath this afternoon.
Absence of faith in the democratic system and what is going to happen to our country.
Concern that those of us with "broad shoulders" according to the PM don't actually have broad enough shoulders to cover the burden of the economy as it is being told to us and perhaps are not going to be treated "fairly".
Worries that I will have to remortgage my house in 8 years time to allow James to go to university.
Absence of blip inspiration. Therefore ...
Cop out.
Sleep. Soon. Please.
I traded radio stations. I went to Radio 4. 1 was too full of ridiculous chit chat and rubbish music, 2 is just not the same without Wogan. The morning is OK. So is the afternoon. But today I was taken with how many times the word "Big" was used on my 30 minute journey from work to the Osteopath. David Cameron, in case you didn't know, wants "Big Society" and definitely not "Big Government". I know this because he keeps saying it. I think he is adopting the strategy that some teenagers I work with adopt on a daily basis i.e. if I say it enough and keep repeating it, it will become true.
We will see.
Until this last week though I didn't worry about taxation and other stuff - now I am constantly pondering on how my financial future is going to pan out. I am also trying to figure out how the politicians think they are going to 'balance the books'. I wish I'd never studied economics - a little knowledge is a dangerous thing. Although not perhaps as dangerous as no knowledge at all.
