Rambling daily

A quiet corner to rest

I drive along the A31 quite frequently and in the distance see a church tower. Today like yesterday I decided to take a break and explore so I turned off and found the church which is the parish church of St Mary Almer in Dorset. The church was not open but I found these two stones in the corner of the church yard which appealed.

'The curfew tolls the knell of parting day.
The lowing herd winds slowly o'er the lea,
The ploughman homeward plods his weary way,
And leaves the world to darkness and to me.'
