Crimson and clover, over and over...........
Well there's no clover but there's plenty of crimson.
This is the last of our Japanese maples to turn (well there are another two but they're not as good as the four I've blipped.) It's my favourite, its the first one we bought just after we moved in and it's called Acer Palmatum Osakazuki. Green in the Summer it turns a kind of flame red and then darkens to a deep crimson, before all the leaves fall off into our pond. But we're cunning, we put a net over the pond to catch them.
Today started off very rainy and cold but as the time has gone on the sky has cleared and it's warmed up slightly. Now its feeling chilly again and we can see the stars.
We went to watch the Son and Heir playing again today, fairly straight forward 3-1 win, the crowd didn't get sent off this time and for once no-one had a complaint about the umpires. He made two or three really good saves, but so did the keeper at the other end, the game could have been about 8-5.
Up early again tomorrow, first match of the Winter League for me, it'll be a grueller, fish don't feed much when the water is cold so it will either be catching very small fish and a small weight will win it, or someone will cop for a big dozy fish that hasn't worked out what the temperature is yet.
I'll let you know how it goes.
