Gladed Avenue
After having been out of action for a week, it was a pleasure to go for my first short walk in our local park, only a few minutes amble from our front door.
Here, we see an avenue of matue trees (horse chestnuts, with lots of shiny conkers on the ground). One day, we must search out the history of this park, because there are several magnificent stands of trees that suggest that it must once have been part of a grand estate.
Apart from the conkers, this particular photograph makes the season look still like late summer. But elsewhere in the park the trees are showing a range of autumnal colours. Here is a closer shot of the trees.
