pretty in pink
today my pink princess has had a bit of a difficult day, so the pink mountain is for her.
life isn't easy when you are only nearly 7 and inherited all your mummy's wiggly and lack of concentration genes. as well as the 'I am always right' gene (also from mummy). it makes sitting still in school very hard work, much harder work than the other stuff you have to do, like learning to read. it makes you mess up your homework and then forget it. and forget everything else too. and miss bits of the lesson because you saw your sister through the window playing football outside. and it makes it very difficult to listen to daddy trying to explain things and to accept that he is a teacher so might be right.
but we ended up having a Very Good Idea and we've drawn a plan of the week with everything on that one has to remember and we've deocrated it with flowers and hearts. and daddy has found a way of doing lots of practising of things that the pink princess forgot to listen to in school. and big sisters have found old books to help and we've all got as far as bedtime feeling a bit happier.
today the sun shone and the sunset was pink. maybe that's a good omen for a new leaf turned over in pink-princess-land?
however - mummy, i.e. me is still feeling a bit narky about school. will need to calm down, take a few deep breaths and then find time for a little chat with mrs. teacher.
