The whole world stops and stares for awhile....

Everything is amazing.

I have had the best morning. I was awoken by the radio, brought a cup of coffee by my beloved. Watched the cats, be very cat-like outside in the garden. Took my daughter and her friend to school.

I came home, showered and arranged my hair in a less conspicuous fashion than the nest I started with. Fileted and chicken and put the carcas on to boil. Then I got in the car. I went out with the intention of a blip, and blip I did. Over, and over and over.

I had my daughters blazer to drop off in a neighbouring village. She has won full colours which requires a modification to it, and she bought herself a new blazer in order to receive the honor!

It's still beautiful today, and I wanted to make the most of the Autumn sunshine. I drove along the back road to the village we used to live in. After we moved out, it took about 2 years before I could drive that road again, but it is so gorgeous... you could be miles from any civilisation. I stopped at a bend in the road to speak to the cows. I love talking to the cows. This morning the farmer pulled in at my back, and we stood and discussed the merits of filet steak from Angus bullocks, and how maternal the cows were, and how the hell he was going to open the gate to get in to feed them hay. Next week they will be going under cover for the winter.

I drove onward towards the village but skirted around the outside and headed for a gardencentre which has a lovely fruit and veg shop. I wanted some fresh for my soup!

On the way back, I went through a piece of road which we refer to as "twee tunnel". Driving through here 14 years ago, I heard my daughter speak her first words, which were of course "tweee tunnel". It is gorgeous at this time of year, but a couple of months earlier, it's almost dark when you drive through so thick is the cover of leaves.

From the edge of the tree tunnel, I took a picture of the castle. It's only from this point that you see it's superior position over the village. The village is defended from the south by the hill, and the flat lands to the north and east can be watched from the castle itself, to protect any attack on the village. I doubt very much this would happen. It's more likely that an attack would come from the village on the surrounding areas! (Long standing local joke).

I then drove up said defensive hill and was delighted to be able to go slowly because there was a wide load in front of me. Quite why it decided to take that road is beyond me. On coming traffic was having to pull up on to grass verges to let it past.

I sat for a few minutes at the top of the hill and enjoyed the view below. I took a photo to try and place my house. I took another which showed the collegestanding proud over all the town.

And then, i took this photo. Which might not say a lot, but as I said, everything is amazing.
