Point Blank

I waited a long time, and shot a lot frames, for this shot of Long Beach City College Men's Soccer/Football. I had in my mind that I wanted the gym name in the background while some action occurred in the foreground. As is typical of action shots, many were missing the ball or not quite sharp enough. When this Long Beach player took this shot at close range, right in front of the goal, all the elements came together and I knew I had what I wanted.

Even though the goalie looks like he has his eyes closed he made the save denying me of any kind of player celebration photos.
