Breakfast at Sue's
A meal at Sue's is always nourishing. Several times a year she invites a group of us for Saturday morning breakfast. This morning she served Eggs Benedict, fresh fruit, monkey bread, and fresh brewed coffee. Mr. Fun and I tossed our dieting to the wind and ate everything on our plates. Every bite was delicious.
Joe & Sue have lived in Norco for almost 50 years. Joe grew-up here in southern California in the city of Buena Park. Sue was raised in Washington, near Bellingham (I think). After they married they moved to Norco. They have four adult children and have raised their daughter's three children, who are now all grown. Joe was a contractor and has been involved in many of the building projects in the community. They are remarkable people.
Joe is a kidder and a joker and always has a twinkle in his eye and mischief up his sleeve. He tells some far-fetched stories about his growing-up days, but I think they are more truth than fiction.
We've known Sue & Joe for a long time because our paths have intersected in the churches we have attended. Years ago I had the privilege of being in a small group that she led. Currently she oversees the prayer ministry at the little church we all attend. It is always a treat to be invited to their home because we know that the moments with them will be pleasurable.
Life would be intensely lonely without friends. Today was rich and full and satisfying.
Good night from Southern California.
Rosie (& Mr. Fun), aka Carol
