Ada Tree!
Home from work this morning after a full night's sleep!! We packed some food for a snack and lunch then went for a drive to the 'Ada Tree' which is about an hour from our house.
The Ada Tree is a 75 metre tall, 400 year old Mountain Ash tree! It is huge with a circumference of 15 metres around it at chest height! We drove to the car park at the reserve and then it is a 1.5 km (nearly a mile) walk through rain forest to reach the tree! Spence walked the whole way which was fantastic! The walk was beautiful with so many shades of green from the trees and plants and a little stream running along.
Spence had a shoulder ride on the way back because he was sick of walking! We had lunch at the picnic tables then came home!
This photo shows just the top of the tree (I couldn't fit the whole tree in the shot, it was so big!) but the leaves were a kind of purpley grey colour shining in the sunlight.
Thanks so much to everyone who dropped by yesterday for my 300th blip!
