Meet Coumba, she's 17 and has a baby girl who will be 1 in January. The father of Coumba's child was one of her teachers.

Violence against students is endemic here, and is part of a wider problem connected to the lack of training for teachers as well as a serious lack of punishment for serial offenders. In one region where 144 girls are pregnant, 36 of them are pregnant by their teachers, and 38 by fellow pupils.

Luckily, Coumba's mother agrees with Coumba that 'we all need to learn to understand life and to succeed' and whilst she looks after her daughter at home, Coumba is now back in a new school, wanting to study until university and become a doctor.
