Aphrodite

Today's the day ................... for broken arms

This is a statue of Aphrodite, greek goddess of love and beauty and daughter of Zeus. Aphro, as we call her, has been in our garden for a very long time and is a little bit worse for wear.

Will was painting a tall greenhouse one summer just along from her. The ladder that he had been using fell on top of her and knocked her off her plinth. This resulted in quadruple fractures to her arm and shoulder which Will had to mend with an ingenious wire and cement process.

By some strange coincidence, four years ago the same thing happened to me. Or at least, there wasn't a ladder involved - but I ended up with a broken shoulder and arm.

Aphro and I have felt really close ever since .............?!
