Cathedral Window
As I spent many hours in St Magnus Cathedral over the weekend, I decided I would take a photo of the stained glass window with the sun behind it. We rehearsed both afternoons and then sang at the tree lighting ceremony on Sunday evening.
The Norwegians give us a Christmas tree and we invite them to the lighting up celebratrions so they played a few traditional tunes too. As we are far closer geographically to Bergen in Norway than to London it makes sense to keep up the links with them, and there are lots of comings and goings.
The concert was a great success, a world premiere of one piece by Alisdair Nicolson, and then some lovely settings of carols. We also sang "The Snow" by Elgar - anyone know it? Brought grown men to tears, it was so moving!
What to do on a Monday night, now choir is finished until February? TV and the fireside, I think!
