Cold
Today we woke to snow covered in a half inch of ice, and it was COLD. I was hoping for a snow day from work, but no luck, just a delayed opening and I only teach afternoon classes today anyway. I was looking for a photo to capture the ice and cold temperatures, and I shot alot of iced tree branches which were somewhat artistic. But I think this photo really represents it best.... when geese start bunching up and looking like ducks, you know its cold. This picture was taken on the campus pond which rarely freezes all the way because the stream that feeds it runs very close under all the heated campus buildings. So the geese and ducks often stay around quite late into the season. I'm thinking they were regretting that this morning.
