Today's the day ......................... to cross the river

Up to Penrith this morning for a bit of training. Took the long way back to Kendal and stopped for a very nice pub lunch at the George & Dragon at Clifton on the way. Oh the decadence of having pub lunches mid-week!

Found this group of people south of Old Tebay in a huddle on the bank of the River Lune. Presumably they were going to cross the raging torrent using the wires somehow. Perhaps they were from one of the nearby outward bound-type centres?

To be honest, I didn't hang about to find out what they were going to do. It was freezing cold and beginning to sleet and crossing that river on a bit of wire would have been my idea of complete hell.

But then I am a self-confessed softie with a weakness for a nice lunch .........!
