Motivation
It's amazing how much snow on the ground can motivate you to go out for a walk. Following breakfast and a cup of tea, I pulled back the curtains to see a world of white. Well I had been meaning to start my marathon training so I donned my snow boots, hat, scarf, gloves and headed out for a nice 3 miles stroll along the canal. It was a beautiful morning and it made me really happy.
It was mildly disturbed by a jogger who felt that as I'd stopped to feed a couple of ducks they were within their right to stop me and ask if I had time to talk to them about god. It's not so much that I have anything against people wanting to talk about their religion, I just have something against people rudely interupting my early morning, quiet solitude and scaring my ducks away, they could have wanted to talk about the economy/weather/politics and I'd have been equally annoyed, however I politely chatted to them before making my excuses to leave.
When I got back to the top of the canal I realised the birds are really hungry at the minute. I was a good ten feet away and they'd started walking up the slipway towards me. Thankfully I was prepared and had taken out as big bag of grain. I was a little worried when the swans ignored the grain I was throwing and continued toward me but a little pile of it was enough to stop them.
