Grand Canyon of the Pacific

We spent our first full day exploring the southwest side of the island.

Waimea Canyon (Mark Twain dubbed it "The Grand Canyon of the Pacific") was breathtaking. Also this is one of the rainest spots on earth!

We wandered around the small town of Waimea, found a local spot to have lunch, and then spent the rest of our afternoon back at the hotel by the pool. :)
