Ron made friends with one of the local bartenders last night who gave us the number to a guy who gives surf lessons.

Today we headed North to Hanalei Bay to meet up with the instructor. After a quick overview of the basics, we got into the water. I had a great time. Although overcast and rainy, the water was warm and the waves really mellow. I was able to get up over a dozen times and was allowed to join the more experienced surfers on the outside where the waves were a little bigger (but I wasn't able to catch any of those).

After an exhausting two hours, we headed back to the hotel for . . . you guessed it, more pool and relaxation time! It's a hard life being on vacation.
