Kilauea Lighthouse

The Kilauea Lighthouse is the northernmost point in the Hawaiian islands. Located near a national wildlife refuge, there was some great bird watching to be had from the many look out points.

Unfortunately, the lighthouse was being refurbished (built in 1919 so it has weathered a storm or two in its day) when we visited so this unsightly fence surrounded the building.
