Day 7
Rule #8 Try to blend in
Attempting more Portuguese, with variable success, although I think I have managed not to offend too many people!
Following the arrival of our luggage we are now getting into the rhythm of our time away - and it is good to be well away and stop, time to reflect and contemplate on our lives. Our routine is a bit like: 9.30am breakfast, then back to our abode to loaf about a bit and then eventually get our act together to go along the beach. walk along the beach (about 3 miles or so), stopping for a swim, or to read for a bit. Then have a beer. Then eventually wander back to have some cake (saved from breakfast) and coke. Read a bit more, then it's about time to get ready for cocktails and a meal. Not too taxing really.
J went for a swim in the 'river this morning - she nearly got swept away as she went when the tide was at it's strongest - honestly! Bit grey today, but humid - eventually started raining (although never falls below 80s F). The rain seemed to bring out the crabs - I was not a happy camper as I walked VERY QUICKLY back to the Pousada
Picture is of J's toes - she was SO pleased when she realised that her fancy toe pimping work (courtesy of 'Mad about beauty', Chatburn) matched a shirt she had brought along - they are certainly doing their best to blend in.
