Nearly Christmas robin

This robin was captured first thing this morning, before I set off for Sheffield to collect Chris. Initially I thought all the birds had deserted me in my hour of need, but this little chap saved the day.

After all the worry, we had a really uneventful journey. On the way up the roads were very quiet - I think lots of people had been deterred from travelling by the bad weather. But although it was well below freezing, we saw very little snow. Sheffield itself was exceedingly quiet - very strange so close to Christmas.

So we're all back safely, and I'm going to have a lazy evening with a nice cup of mulled wine. The Christmas preparations will have to wait!
