Canvassbacks

These ducks are just one species of migrating birds that visit Lake Merritt in autumn and winter. We look forward to seeing them, along with the western grebes, white pelicans, scaups, buffleheads, goldeneyes and others that grace us with their presence.

We leave for the Yucatan (southern Mexico) tomorrow night and will be back January 6. Expect blips after that. it's unlikely that I'll have time to blip before then... but who knows?
