Hot Chocolate
As Christmas draws nearer excitement levels are rising and behaviour levels are plummeting. Usually a strong advocate of the stick approach to parenting I decided to shake it up a bit today and go down the carrot route for a change ("behave and you'll get a treat as opposed to", "do as you're told or I'll give you a fifteen minute timeout in the snow"). Seeing as I spent the majority of the weekend cleaning the midden the logical reward seemed to be baking. Behaviour was atrocious as per usual (poor Minion number two was pushed over by each of the other Minions at some point during the day) but I had bought the ingredients and so caved and let them bake anyway. The mulled wine for breakfast must be mellowing my temperament.
The dough for the Christmas biscuits was made ( I will need a chisel to remove the splatters from the walls and ceiling) and three los of chocolate truffles were made. Chocolate truffle making tends to get a little messy when it comes to the rolling stage. The obvious thing to wipe your hands on? Someone elses face. Minion number one practically dislocated her tongue trying to lick it off.
Quote of the day "I am the most awesomest person in the world ever"(Minion number one, age 4). To have half her confidence.
