-11 at Thurso beach

I dashed down to the beach at lunchtime as there was beautiful blue skies and sunshine and coupled with air temperature of -11 all day I hoped for a good blip opportunity. I was amazed to see mist rising up from the sea as the water temperature was much warmer than the air which, coupled with wind chill, was so cold I could hardly use my camera!

I am lucky to live near the sea (on the very north coast of Scotland). It always relaxes me to gaze out over the big horizon and see very little signs of anything manmade. It is also a great way to relax at luchtime, but I was so cold I had to sprint back to the car to get the blood circulating again.
