......a pub with no beer......

We went for our Christmas night out tonight. The place does fantastic food and doesn't have a licence so you take your own booze, they don't charge corkage and you only buy your soft drinks from them.

Except they don't any more!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We turned up, through the snow, with rucksacks full of beer and wine only to be informed that all alcohol is now prohibited!!!!

So we had the most wonderful starters of kebabs, samosa, chicken, poppadoms, etc. followed by Chicken tikka, lamb pasanda, rogan josh chicken and lamb, chicken korma, lamb bhuna, veggie curry, boiled rice, pilau rice, naan bread etc deserts of chocolate gateau, strawberry cheese cake, fudge, yoghurt, fruits etc. It was an all you can eat buffet as well so you could go back as often as you like!!!

All washed down with coca-cola and/or water!!!!!!!!!!!

So we ate and then came back here for beer, wine, vodka and JD.

I did learn some interesting things though, like the fact that Derek while in Zurich at the weekend displayed a fetish for rubber, by fondling several car tyres! He claimed to be feeling them to see what a winter tyre was like but I'm not so sure!

The picture shows fron bottom left, the Boss, Brian, Young Helen, Chris the Son and Heir, Sue, Derek and just peeking out from behind him Vicky.

Todays Christmas fact....Why does Santa come down the chimney?

In 1822 after extensive research Clement Moore wrote "A visit from St.Nicholas", you know, the one that starts "Twas the night before Christmas". As part of his research he had come across a Finnish legend of Santa Claus that had him visiting the dwellings of tha Saami (Laplanders). They lived in small fur covered tents, sunk into the ground , so that only the upper part was showing. In the centre of the roof was a hole that served as a chimney and a door, so any visitor had to jump down the hole to enter, hence "down the chimney St. Nicholas came with a bound"

Das vidanya, one more day until I greet you for Christmas in Russian.
