Long Christmas Day
"Please be here by 10:00 a.m." was the request made by our daughter's family. They live approx. 5 miles across town from us. We've just arrived home at 9:00 p.m. Mr. Fun's mom came and so did our son, and it was the first Christmas for our daughter's two pups that are now about 8 months old. It's been a long and full and wide and wonderful day.
We skipped the big meal and did a hearty brunch mid-day, and then munched all the rest of the day. It's been a season of over-eating, so we decided to go easy on food today. Honestly, we had plenty to eat and all delicious.
As we drove away from our daughter's home this evening, I asked Mr. Fun to stop at the house next door to them and aimed the camera at the front yard nativity. During the drive home I told Mr. Fun that one of my favorite blips was posted last Christmas day. Once home I pulled-up that blip and it is still a favorite--the photo and the write-up. So I took a picture of last Christmas's blip and added tonight's nativity scene.
Moments after arriving home we received this text from our daughter, "We really enjoyed the time with you today It was nice to be low-key. Love you, Good night."
We had rolled from their home concerned that maybe we had overstayed our time. Her text was confirmation that we had not and was certainly a grand finale to our day.
We've viewed some very meaningful blips this month. One that we appreciated immensely was posted by ~Kiwilizzie. We thought her message displayed lots of respect.
It's just started to rain again, and we are so tired we can hardly keep our eyes open.
We hope your week between Christmas and New Year's is fabulous!
Good night from Southern California.
Rosie (& Mr. Fun), aka Carol
