Ice on the Tay

Set off this afternoon with Mr Lif. He had bagsied the big camera to use the new lens with so I was left with the wee one. Not the best day for such a venture. The snow is thawing and we had a heavy mist. He wanted the bridges so we set off in that direction and after a bit of faffing found ourselves back out at Balmerino.

We skated our way down to the beach to find this - huge chunks of ice on the shoreline. They are about 4 foot across. Not the best picture but the light was dismal and it was hard to balance. The whole tideline was still frozen and a good way out to the river too. In all my time in this area I have never seen the Tay like this :)

Mr Lif then insisted we follow the footpath to Wormit - we didnt get too far. Thick ice, a pully dog and me almost doing a Felicity Kendall type split movement meant it was time to turn back!
